My name is Barbra, or Granny, I’m a mom of 4, grandmother of 8, passionate about God, family, psychology, the law, horses, photography, DIY crafting (Cricut newb), cooking, baking, home decor, learning in general, & travel (although I haven’t gotten to do much-yet) When I’m not spending time with my wonderful husband, I love writing about my fascination with all of the above, including adventure, & living a healthy and organized life Thanks for visiting!

And it begins….

From the blog

Just call me Granny. That’s a title that I’ve had for a little over 13 years now. For most of those years I spent the majority of my time changing diapers, wiping noses, playing taxi driver to dance classes, gymnastics, school plays, parent-teacher conferences, birthday parties, baseball & soccer games. The rest of the time I spent cleaning house, shopping for groceries & preparing for my truck driving honey’s next run. Oh… & praying for the 3 children that I actually gave birth to + 1, whom I was blessed w/when I got the ring. All of whom are now currently stateside. My youngest son is a military man & who recently, along w/ his family, bought a beautiful new home in Texas.  He had previously been living overseas in Italy w/ his very beautiful wife, & their 3 amazing children. Children that I don’t get to see enough of. To be quite frank, as of recently, I don’t see any of the grandkids enough. Not nearly enough. I miss them. But that’s another story for another day. I became a full-time mother  in 1985 & a grandmother in 2013. I’ve had a multi-faceted job history- from planting trees, paper routes, preschools & waitressing to running a day care, a ranch; office management to case management for the mentally ill to homeschooling my kids(I was even an administrator of a group home for a bit). I went to school & majored in psychology, received my AA , & my BA but unfortunately never completed my Masters program & thereby never became an MFT, which is what I was pursuing. Among other things that postponed my direction, I was given custody of my oldest grandson & both my husband & myself felt it was best for me to stay home w/ him. Sooooo…. i did just that. I told myself, that if he was still living in our care, that I would certainly go back when he started school. However, during that time we gained our twin grandbabies & then their younger brother 11 months later. Obviously my hands were a bit full. Fast forward 9+ years & I still had not finished my degree. Meanwhile, the 4 are no longer living w/ us & I have been exploring options. I do want to complete my degree in psychology but I have also decided to pursue a degree in law. Combining the 2 I am looking forward to becoming a child advocate in the Social Services area. I want to be a voice for those who have no voice. I have become passionate about the law, especially where children are concerned. So all that being said; & it was more than enough. Glad to know you. Talk to you soon.
